An apology from SEGA HD, and a shift of direction

segahd_promo

Hi there fellow SEGA HD members. We are sorry about the inactivity spurt that we had. Most of us were getting caught up in real life situations and had to take care of those, we will work on being more active in order to make up for our spurt of inactivity. It is our goal to keep you, the readers with a steady flow of content.

We will be going a slight change in direction, which has sorta already happened, but if you didn’t notice, we are covering more then High Definition related content. We will continue to focus on covering all hardcore SEGA games, regardless of if they are high definition are not. We got a wide range of writers that want to cover different parts of SEGA hardcore.

Anyone who is a fan of SEGA is welcome to join SEGA HD. We want to build a strong community of hardcore SEGA fans. If you are already a member of SEGA HD, then advertise to your friends and get them to join, the more people that join the more active of a community we will get.

We have SEGA HD signatures that you can use to advertise SEGA HD on other message boards or forums! We want our members to feel proud to be a part of SEGA HD, a unique growing SEGA community dedicated to everything that is good about SEGA.

Thank you for taking your time to read this, let’s have a good future for SEGA HD! We don’t want a bad future.

This sounds all well and good…but you might consider changing the name of your website now that you are covering non-HD content. I know that would be a pretty drastic change, but the current name will be misleading, and frankly, meaningless now.

Our name is also in part related to the High Definition graphics logo on the SEGA Mega Drive / Genesis. Also in the near future all content will be HD. We also think of HD as High Detail / attention to detail – something SEGA is good at.

The focus is almost the same, but the restrictions on what our writers can cover are gone.

You know what would be cool? If you featured non-Sega games that were “HD” by your high-end/high detail definition. In this sense you would be promoting games that are consistent with Sega’s hardcore gaming philoshopy (the good Sega stuff, not the for nintendo casual crap) and just promoting true hardcore gaming in general, which is Sega after all. It would set you apart from all the other extremely lame Sega sites that are rehashing nostalgia pieces of Sega trivia and osbscura nobody gives a flying flip about. I think you should really consider this suggestion. I think you could grow your audience this way. Sweet third-party support was always part of Genesis, Saturn and Dreamcast that always got ports closest to the arcade.

U know. In the beginning I liked what i saw, and thought the website was heading towards the right direction. But lately I have been reading the reviews and articles and tbh all of the writers are horrible.

This website doesn’t feel like a segawebsite run by fans, but by wannabe fans that don’t really write the articles with heart and soul. Not only that, but the reviews just come off as if the reviewers don’t really have experience in what is good or not. The reviews aren’t concrete enough.

I don’t know how old some of you are but sometimes it’s like i’m reading articles written by young sonic fans that don’t really know what SEGA is about.

I am sorry to say this guys, but the website is a mess. It isn’t special at all. You need better writers with a sense of what is good or not, critisizing and that write in a way that keep it interesting.

Closing comment. That shenmue review was just awfull and doesn’t doe it any justice at all.

Thanks for the feedback, harsh as it is, I have to agree in a way. We are in the process of working on various issues to improve the quality of SEGAHD. I would be lying if I said I was happy with the site right now. I don’t put any of our writers at fault though, we just weren’t clear with our direction, we are working on stuff… so yeah thanks for the feedback.

    • Gaming Misfit says:

Kind of hate to admit it, but I agree here. Especially feeling a bit at fault *looks at last two shitty reviews I did*
