Sonic Generations 3DS: New York Comic Con footage

SonicBlog-article_image

New York Comic Con has an updated build featuring Green Hill, Mushroom Hill, and Big Arm levels. Unfortunately, the newest build was swapped out and this build was put in instead. The newest build featured Dreamcast era levels and even featured the rumored Classic homing attack. Since there isn’t much news regarding that build, we will be focusing on the one that had recorded footage and videos.

In the video below, there are quite a few important things to note. Mushroom Hill Modern now has a remix, and Big Arm has no one visible in the cockpit. Who knows what is in store in the 3DS version!

Good job on your first post, Autosaver!

Yeah I have mixed feelings about the 3DS version.

At least the Classic era zones look good for Classic Sonic since they mirror the original Act 1 layouts and the physics seem quite good. You can’t really go wrong with the first three as Classic Sonic as long as you don’t mind the layouts being the same.

Not too convinced by 3DS’s Modern Sonic level design yet but Mushroom Hill Modern is the best one I’ve seen.

Music is great as in both versions.

Hmm, I noticed how there was no Classic Eggman visible in the cockpit for some reason too. I hope he’s visible in the final. It’s like SEGA wants to dismiss Classic Eggman for some reason.

… if he is there in the final, I will be getting it. What?

    • MrFranklin says:

To be fair, even though Jazzwares made a Classic Eggman toy…

We’ve never actually been promised a Classic Eggman appearance in either version of Sonic Generations.

He’s cameod on sign posts but that doesn’t mean he shows up in a cutscene or gameplay. At current I wonder if Eggman is even part of the main story or just a boss.

The only confirmed classic characters are Classic Sonic and Classic Tails. If there are any other surprises we’ll just have to wait and hope for the best…

    • Robotnikator says:

Yeah, you are right. I would kind of like to see him in a cutscene though, even if it’s only, say, something like those three cutscenes in Sonic Unleashed which featured Sonic and Chip in three locations. He’s got a lot of comedic potential, that classic fat man has.

I’m still somewhat annoyed by the fact that he’s not even visible in the Big Arm as a cameo, though. I mean, really? Was that necessary?

    • MrFranklin says:

Yeah me too mate. I’m hoping for an appearance in a Sky Sanctuary or Death Egg related cutscene.

Yeah it seems a bit weird.

Well, Ultimate Tails confirmed that the physics in 3DS version actually are worse… especially the jump and theres no momentum on 3DS version, so I take back my statement on physics.
